Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers
Results using hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are immediately seen, however some areas of the face may require more than one session to safely reach your final goal. Once the hyaluronic acid dermal filler is injected into the specific area, the area may swell for 24-72 hours and take up to 2 weeks to fully settle. Although you will see the presence of the hyaluronic acid dermal filler immediately, the final and lasting result is seen in about 2 weeks post procedure. Generally speaking, we will tell you that the lips you see in the mirror immediately following your lip filler will go down about 20% due to the swelling.
Wrinkle Relaxers & Neuromodulators
Neuromodulators can help to reduce dynamic lines (lines noticed with movement) instead of static lines (lines noticed at rest, or without expression). Results of Dysport or Botox are not immediate. It can take 5-7 days to start noticing results and up to 14 days to fully relax the muscles and reduce dynamic movements. Injecting additional neuromodulator should not occur until 14 days has passed from the initial treatment session.
Your comfort is our priority. We understand that everyone's pain tolerance is different. Due to this it is difficult to say whether or not injectables will hurt you. Typically Dysport and Botox injections are the least painful due to the small needle size. To ease your discomfort, vibratory distraction devices and/or ice can be used.
Bruising after hyaluronic acid dermal fillers or wrinkle relaxers (neuromodulators) is a common side effect that Rouge Medical Aesthetics tries our best to avoid. The risk of bruising depends primarily on the area being injected and the number of vessels in the area. The risk of bruising can be lowered by avoiding alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) 24 hours before your appointment. If you do develop a bruise, oral or topical Arnica Montana will help diminish bruising. For more information please see our pre and post treatment instructions.
It can take up to 14 days for neuromodulators such as Dysport and Botox to fully "kick-in". After that, Dysport and Botox injections typically last about 3-4 months before full movement has returned to the area injected. Longevity of any injectable is not guaranteed and can depend on a variety of factors which will be further explained during your consultation and consent(s).
Dysport is generally $5 per unit, and Botox is $15 per unit. While Dysport and Botox are both neuromodulators/wrinkle relaxers, unit-for-unit, they are very different products and are not interchangeable, therefore 1 unit of Botox is not the same as 1 unit of Botox, or vice versa.
Every face and aesthetic goal are very unique and Rouge Medical Aesthetics works to curate each experience. To know how many units would be recommended, a consultation is required. On average 20 units of Botox is needed for forehead and glabellar lines (20 units for each treatment area), while 12 units of Botox is needed for lateral canthal lines (bilaterally). In terms of Dysport, 50 units is generally indicated for the glabellar lines. Again while both neuromodulars/wrinkle relaxers, Botox and Dyport are very different products, so 1 unit of Botox is not the same as 1 unit of Dysport, and vice versa.
Both Botox and Dysport are FDA approved and safe when used as intended. Common side effects of Botox and Dysport may include bruising, redness, or soreness at the injection site. There is the possibility of the brow either “spocking” or dropping, or asymmetry once the neuromodulator/wrinkle relaxer has set in, however in most instances this can be adjusted. Risks of common side effects or an adverse events may depend on the area being treated and your medical history, and will be discussed as part of your consultation prior to being injected.
At Rouge Medical Aesthetics hyaluronic acid dermal fillers generally range from $575-$875 per syringe. Pricing varies based on the product choice. The number of syringes needed varies from person to person. Each treatment plan is curated with safety as our first priority.
Swelling after hyaluronic acid dermal fillers is normal and to be expected. Swelling typically begins within an hour of your appointment lasting up to 72 hours. The severity of post procedure swelling will depend on the area treated and the product used. Lips and under eyes will swell significantly and can be improved by sleeping on extra pillows, drinking a moderate amount of water, and avoiding salty foods. Lips can swell up to three times their normal size and is not an indicator of an allergy. Rouge Medical Aesthetics may send you home with an icepack, for your comfort and convenience, to minimize swelling.
All hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used at Rouge Medical Aesthetics are FDA approved and purchased directly from Galderma and Allergan. Common side effects of injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers include swelling, bruising, redness, pain or soreness, and tenderness. These side effects should subside within 24-72 hours post procedure. Risks of common side effects or adverse events may depend on the area being treated and your medical history, and will be discussed as part of your consultation prior to being injected.
Lip injections are priced per syringe, which range from $600-$750 depending on product choice.
Lip injections typically last from 4-6 months when receiving a full syringe of Restylane or Juvederm. Longevity of any injectable is not guaranteed and can depend on a variety of factors which will be further explained during your consultation and consent(s).
Microneedling, also called percutaneous collagen induction therapy, is a treatment that uses a handheld device with multiple tiny needles that make precise punctures into the skin, creating microchannels. These punctures superficially damage the epidermis deep enough to help stimulate collagen production as the skin repairs itself naturally through a process called dermal remodeling. Microneedling may help improve skin texture, dimmish the appearance of fine lines and scarring, decrease pore size.
Your comfort is our priority. For microneedling we offer pre-procedure topical anesthetic. In using the topical anesthetic, often little to no discomfort is during the procedure is reported.
Immediately after microneedling there may be some pinpoint bleeding at the treatment area. This should resolve within 10 minutes. Minor redness, swelling, and pinpoint bruising may occur for 24-72 hours post procedure.
Microneedling may help improve skin texture, dimmish the appearance of fine lines and scarring, decrease pore size. There may be some results noted after the first treatment sessions, but in most cases results are best seen after having three (3) treatment sessions four (4) weeks apart. Results may vary given a variety of factors which will be explained during your consultation and consent.
Sculptra® Aesthetic, is a poly-L-acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, is a FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen, the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue, for results that can last up to two years. Sculptra® Aesthetic works with your body to within the deep dermis to help rebuild lost collagen over a series of injection sessions.
Sculptra® Aesthetic (injectable poly-L-lactic acid) does not provide immediate results. Unlike dermal fillers, Sculptra® Aesthetic provides a gradual improvement of the depressed area over several weeks after the treatment occurs. It may seem that your treatment worked immediately because of swelling caused by the injection and water used to dilute Sculptra® Aesthetic however this usually resolves in several hours to a few days, this may cause the original wrinkles to reappear and you to look as you did before treatment. Visible wrinkle correction results appear slowly. You should be seen in 3-4 weeks to decide if additional injections are needed.
